HatTrick Blue Silkies

Our line of Blue, Black & Splash is pure Andalusian.
That means we hatch only blue, black & splash from our blue birds
(no other colors should come out of andalusian birds).
We believe in breeding Silkies to the standard
and are especially pleased our blue, black & splash program.

* You may see blue/black/splash birds throughout the
three corresponding sections on our website.
We raise them together for the most part.























Who says HatTrick doesn't love a good "calico"? :)

Notes

Breeding of Andalusian Blue should yield (on average) the following results;

Blue X Blue = 50% Blue, 25% Black, 25% Splash
Blue X Splash = 50% Blue, 50% Splash
Blue X Black = 50% Blue, 50% Black
Splash X Splash = 100% Splash
Splash X Black = 100% Blue
Black X Black = 100% Black

Remember, the averages are based on the lifetime of the birds
and very susceptible to Murphy's Law ;)

Just a couple of things to note;
* Blue silkies from true andalusian birds can range in the shade of blue;
from a lighter, medium shade of blue, to a darker blue.
* Andalusian never produces blues so dark you can not distinguish
them from black birds easily. If you have blues you mistake for black
you have something else going on underneath them.
