Our Sales Policy
We receive numerous requests for our stock, and while we try to be accomodating when we have something available,
please understand we are not hatcheries. We breed our Silkies with our own exhibition goals in mind.
Stock is not always available. Only when we have more than we need do we offer birds for sale.

We can not keep a "waiting list", because we do not breed to sell and it is just not possible to work this way.
We do, however, utilize FaceBook and when we can make special offers available.
We also keep a Contact List for special emailings and notices of sales.

Below we hope to answer some pre-sale questions that you may have.
Please take the time to look them over before proceeding to our sale pages.

Bird Sales: Silkies are very difficult to sex accurately until maturity.
That is one of the reasons we mainly sell "pairs" only.
Occasionally we will make exceptions and sell started birds and once in a while chicks.
It really all depends on the situation and what we have available at the time.
We do not make any guarantees as to the sex or quality of these birds (chicks).
Evaluating young silkies is very difficult to say the least.
If we sell unsexed birds, we do not take back cockerels or swap them for pullets.
Please make sure you can house or re-home extra males. Yes, silkie roosters do crow.

We are very honest about the quality of birds we are offering for sale.
We want buyers to realize that not every silkie hatched is worthy of showing or breeding.
Again, we are hatching with our exhibition goals in mind.

"Show Quality" is a silkie who we feel can place at a good size show against decent competition.
We do not consider "Show Quality" to be a silkie with simply no breed disqualifications.
With that said, you should also know it's a term we rarely use. It's just so 'overdone' that it holds little value to us.

"Breeder Quality" is a silkie we feel has some attributes that would be of benefit in a breeding program,
but may not be as solid as we'd like to see for showing. That does not mean they won't produce "show quality" birds.

"Pet Quality" is simply a bird with a DQ or one that we feel would make a beautiful pet but
would offer no benefit to the breed if used in a breeding program.


Hatching Eggs: We typically offer hatching eggs on auction only. If you have never bought or sold hatching eggs before,
we recommend you do some research on the pros and cons of it before hand.
We will package the eggs carefully (please see link below to see how we pack--I'm sorry, we do not make exceptions).
We will send some extras along just in case but once the box leaves our hands, it is out of our control.
We make NO guarantees on hatching eggs--they are a gamble.
Sometimes you have a decent hatch, sometimes you don't.
We won't be held responsible for rough handling by the USPS because someone "spent a lot of money on those eggs".
The post office doesn't care how much you spent on them.

Shipping and Pick Up: Shipping and Box charges can be found on our sales pages.
Shipping via USPS Express mail is available to most parts of the country.
In the event we can not ship to your location, we will refund you in full.

USPS EXPRESS SHIPPING: Express shipments of birds can typically take 1-3 days intransit to reach their destination.
We pack with care and birds do quite well during shipping.
Typicall Express shipping service is guaranteed however...
WE DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE ASK THE POST OFFICE FOR A REFUND IF THE BIRDS ARRIVE LATE.

Payment: Payment is to be made via Paypal or Cash Only. We may require a deposit or payment in full to hold a bird.

Sales Pages: Because we are 6 hours apart, it is not possible to combine shipments.
We also have our own way of conducting business, so that information can be found on our sales pages as well.
